Friday, 25 April - The Musée des Beaux-Arts and dinner in Montecarlo, Monaco at the Café de Paris

Back

Most parks in France (Paris and Nice anyway) have these beautiful carousels. The one below is in Jardin Albert 1er along the Quai des Anglais in Nice and was free for people to ride. At the edge of town is the Musée des Beaux-Arts, which houses a lot of work by Cheret, Dufy, and Mossa. The museum itself is in terrible condition. The paint is peeling from the walls to reveal beautiful murals underneath. I finally remembered that it's ok to take photographs in museums in France, so I did get some shots of the artwork here.

The conference banquet was at Le Café de Paris (a swanky restaurant attached to the casino) in Montecarlo, Monaco. We were down to our last 5 pictures on the camera, so we didn't get many photos from that evening.
