Sadie Rose Bader-Gottlieb

December 2006

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings!  We hope this note finds you well.  After moving in 2005, we settled into life in the ATL this year.  It has been an eventful year, too.

Sara is co-editing a book forthcoming in 2007.  The book is a collection of papers commissioned for a workshop she helped to organize in Boulder, CO, in July.  The theme is on improving tools for assessing and mitigating natural hazard risks to society.

David is directing a new center of excellence at Georgia Tech funded by Sony, IBM, and Toshiba, focused on the Cell processor – the computer chip in the Sony PlayStation 3.  David recently moved into the brand new Klaus Advanced Computing Building, reputed to be the most “green” building in the southeast (LEED Silver Certified).

Sadie is midway through her Pre-K program at the Georgia Tech preschool.  She is a budding artist, entomologist, and flower expert.

Our travels (together and separately) this year included Rhodos Island, Greece; Munich, Germany; and Savannah, Georgia, as well as multiple bi-coastal trips for David.  In February we will be in New York City for a much-anticipated family wedding, and in June we will travel to Peaks of Otter to help Sara’s parents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!

We hope to see many of you this year!;

                                                            Best Wishes for 2007,
                                                            Sara, David and Sadie
